Merseyside has licensed casinos — not casino hotels
Liverpool, Birkenhead and the wider county still support land-based casinos. What they do not currently offer is a hotel with a licensed casino floor as part of the same property. This guide refuses to pad the list.
01 / Scope
What this guide covers, and what it leaves out
We looked for hotels in Merseyside where a licensed casino sits on the premises, attached to the building, or is operated as part of the same property. Hotels that merely sit near an unrelated casino do not qualify.
A short walk from a gaming floor is not the same thing as a stay-and-play property.
After checking open sources for Liverpool, Sefton (including Southport), Wirral, Knowsley and St Helens, we found no currently trading hotel that meets that test. Southport’s former waterfront casino closed permanently after the pandemic. Merseyside’s active casinos trade as standalone venues.
We therefore widened the search one step into neighbouring Greater Manchester and found a single qualifying stay: voco Manchester City Centre, with Napoleons Casino in the same Portland Street development. That is the only venue page on this site.

How entries are ordered on this guide
With only one qualifying property, order is simple: we list by how completely the casino is integrated with the hotel. Nobody paid for a position. This is not an official ranking.

voco Manchester City Centre with Napoleons Casino
A 189-room IHG voco hotel at 59 Portland Street sharing the Portland Street development with Napoleons Casino at 57 Portland Street. The hotel’s own site describes a full casino below the rooms; the hotel owner’s factsheet lists a casino with restaurant and bar among on-site facilities.
Licensed casino operator: Players Club UK Limited (Napoleons trading name). Casino entry is 18+ with Challenge 25 ID checks. Hotel and restaurant areas may welcome a wider age mix — confirm with the hotel before travelling with children.
