01 / Inclusion rule

A venue must be a hotel with a licensed casino on the same property

We include a property only when a licensed casino is part of, attached to, or operated in conjunction with the hotel. A hotel that markets itself as “near the casino” does not qualify. Adult gaming centres and betting shops are outside scope.

We check that the hotel and casino are currently trading using the operator’s own site plus at least one independent current source. Closed, rebranded-away or demolished venues are excluded.

02 / Ordering

Order follows integration, facilities and evidence — never payment

Entries are ordered by how thoroughly the casino is integrated with the hotel, then by the breadth of hotel facilities that sit alongside the gaming floor, then by the strength of open-source evidence. Positions are editorial. Nobody paid for placement.

Why this guide currently lists one property

Merseyside’s active casinos in Liverpool, Birkenhead and related centres operate without hotel accommodation on the same licence footprint. Southport’s former waterfront casino closed permanently. Rather than invent hotel casinos that do not exist, we widened one step into neighbouring Greater Manchester and listed the Portland Street hotel-and-casino development.

If a new Merseyside hotel opens with a licensed casino on site, we will reassess. Until then, the honest count is one.
